Start with the right model
Pip recommends a tested model that fits your computer. You can spend your time using AI instead of comparing model files, settings, and memory requirements.
Private local AI software
Think, write, design, and build with private AI on your own computer. Pip helps you start with the right model, without counting tokens or sending every idea to a hosted service.
For the first year with launch code #ONTHERO9ST26. Then $39.99/year.
Why Pip
AI becomes more useful when you can reach for it throughout the day without worrying about another usage meter or where private work is being processed.Pip gives you a local option and handles the model choices for you. You do not need to become an AI engineer to make AI part of how you work.
Pip recommends a tested model that fits your computer. You can spend your time using AI instead of comparing model files, settings, and memory requirements.
Brainstorm, draft, research, code, and create as often as your hardware allows. Pip does not charge a per-token fee for work your computer runs locally.
Prompts sent to your local model stay on your computer instead of traveling to a hosted model. That gives you a better place for early ideas, private drafts, and sensitive work.
Who Pip helps you become
Use AI without hesitation. Move from an idea to a useful result without stopping to count tokens or second-guess where your work is going. Keep cloud AI for the times it fits, and gain a private local option for everything else.
Our approach
Pip is measured over hours and days, not judged by one impressive demo. We check that answers stay correct, the engine keeps running, and each model fits the computer using it.
That means fewer surprises after you install it and a recommendation based on evidence instead of popularity.
No unexpected stops during the production run.
Enough use to reveal problems a quick demo can miss.
When the computer was full, Pip asked for a retry instead of hiding the failure.
Text appeared steadily on a computer without a separate graphics card.
These results came from one physical Intel computer with 32 GB of memory. They are not a promise for every computer. We also test on rented CPU and GPU machines and other physical hardware, and keep every result tied to the machine that produced it.
During the 45-day run, the engine handled 10,981 requests without an unexpected stop. That tells us more about repeated everyday use than a short demo can.
The tested computer produced a typical 17 tokens per second without a separate graphics card. Words appeared continuously at a comfortable reading pace.
The 2.07% of requests that did not finish arrived when the test computer had no room left. Pip asked for a retry instead of crashing or claiming the work succeeded.
Controlled text and generation checks matched the correct reference result exactly. We did not keep a change merely because it produced a faster number.
How we decide what ships
Speed only matters when the answer is still right and the improvement works more than once.
Explore all findingsWe run everyday prompts for hours or days, not just one polished demo.
An update must produce the same correct result before we consider its speed.
Pip matches tested models to the memory and storage your computer can comfortably provide.
Check before you buy
A comfortable AI setup starts with the right match. This quick check tells you what Pip can run well on your computer before you choose a plan.
Quick and private
Choose your computer, run a small check, and paste the result. Pip will recommend a tested model, suggest closing a few apps, or let you know when support is still on the way.
Available now for Macs on macOS 13.3 or newer, Apple Silicon or Intel, and for 64-bit Windows.
Compatibility check
Copy this command into your terminal. It only prints six hardware details.
Read it first if you would like to. View the readable check script
The command prints one line. Copy the whole line, from the first curly brace to the last, and paste it below.
This is what a working result looks like. Yours will show your own numbers.
Still stuck? Enter the two numbers yourself. This is less precise than the command, because it cannot see your graphics chip or how much memory is free right now, but it is enough to pick a model.
Ready when you are.
Local AI, in plain language
Pip is built for people who want the control of a local LLM without turning model selection into a second job.
Local AI runs a model on hardware you control instead of sending every prompt to a hosted model. Pip recommends a tested model for your computer and helps you use it locally.
That depends on your operating system, processor, memory, storage, and graphics memory. Pip’s free fit check recommends only models matched to the details you provide.
Prompts sent to a model running locally can stay on your computer. Privacy still depends on the software, model, integrations, backups, and network features you choose; local processing is one important control, not a blanket guarantee.
Pip serves a different starting point: choosing a tested model for your hardware and making private local AI approachable. Pip Academy also explains Ollama, LM Studio, and llama.cpp so you can choose the setup that fits.
Choose a plan
Use local AI as often as your computer can handle. Your plan includes tested model recommendations, app updates, and every Pip feature.
“Unlimited” means Pip does not charge per token for inference run on your computer. Usage, speed, and supported model size depend on your hardware. Models remain subject to their publishers’ licenses.
